Sam @ thatsrichartwork

Based in Dorchester Sam Zambelli (formally Sam Rich) thatsrichartwork followed her mothers (Tina Rich) career as a published cartoonist and together created “thatsrichartwork” Despite working full time Sam devotes her evenings and days off to drawing and painting, fulfilling requests for modern watercolours, personalised caricatures, pet portraits and children wall and baby name art.

Sam is passionate about using her artwork to support charities. In her very young years she built up a caricature collection of famous personalities and, alongside her sisters & her mum, decided to sell photocopies of them for £1 each. They spoke to various shopping centres & supermarkets & set up a display in a different location every weekend. Over a 2 year period they raised £35,000 for over 60 different children’s charities. As a result of this amazing achievement, Sam was honoured to receive the ‘Child of Achievement award’ (which Princess Diana was a patron of) from John Major in 1998 in recognition. Sam was just 16 years old at the time.

Sam has focussed her attention on doing a series of large detailed caricatures of popular TV series and personalities. The hope was that the celebrities in question would possibly sign the originals (or prints) which could be auctioned for charities close to Sam's heart. So far she's has been lucky enough to gather signatures, & many messages of support, from the cast of 'This Country', Dawn French, Ant & Dec, Matthew Horne from 'Gavin & Stacey', Jeremy Clarkson, Martin Clunes & Elton John! This has propelled Sam into drawing more & more with the continued passion to raise awareness & funds for charity.
